A New Hanover County man pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of his wife.
Davis Ray Belton went on trial in September--but it ended with a hung jury.
He was accused of shooting his wife--Diane Clemmons in their Kerr Avenue home last year.
He has always claimed it was an accident.
The judge sentenced Belton to up to 6 years in prison.
He'll receive credit for time already served.
