The Wilmington City Council delayed its vote on a proposed ban on gang members at city parks.
Some council members say the wording on the proposed ordinance is too vague.
The ACLU sent a letter to the city with concerns over possible profiling, saying the ordinance as written could violate constitutional rights.
The proposal called for police officers to issue a warning to any known gang associated found at a city park. If that person was spotted a second time, they would be charged with trespassing.
The council hopes to take up a redefined ordinance next month.
