A Wilmington Fire Department Battalion chief is giving up his job following his being sent home from last week’s train derailment at Love Grove.
Authorities found cause to administer a breathalyzer test soon after Jimmy Casteen reported to the scene Friday morning.
Casteen was then relieved of his duty and taken home.
Officials are not releasing the results of the breathalyzer, they say, because Casteen offered his resignation before an internal investigation was complete.
Meanwhile Casteen is due back in court later this month on a DWI charge from December of 2012.
