Firefighters in Pender County were called out early this morning to a motel fire in Surf City.
High winds hampered efforts to contain the flames, and several buildings caught fire. Six stations were dispatched to the scene, in the 15-hundred block of North New River Drive.
No word yet on how the fire started.
