Today’s the last day for manufacturing at DAK Industries.
The company announced in June it was closing its Navassa plant—causing the loss of about 600 jobs.
Layoffs began at the plant last month.
Officials say a few employees will remain on site through December in order to physically shut down the plant.
DAK is working with the Brunswick County Economic Development Commission in helping displaced workers find jobs and in trying to find another company to take over the Navassa site.
