A convicted murderer will be in New Hanover County court today for a new sentencing hearing.
Lakendra Grady was sentenced to life in prison for the 2006 robbery and murder of Pervis Owens.
She was 17 at the time of the killing.
The U-S Supreme Court ruled last year that mandatory life sentences for juveniles convicted of murder amounted to cruel and unusual punishment.
