Update: house fire caused by appliance

   A house fire in Wilmington yesterday morning was caused by an electrical appliance.

   The fire was contained to the kitchen of the home on Newkirk Avenue.

   One person had to be treated for smoke inhalation—but authorities credit the home’s smoke detector for saving lives.
