Wilmington eases rules for small brewers
8/8/2014: Plans to ease restrictions on micro-breweries in Wilmington have been approved.
The planning commission voted unanimously last night to recommend the approval of plans to update zoning regulations to include micro-breweries.
Current zoning laws consider the small breweries a heavy industrial operation.
That means they can’t be built in highly populated areas.
The proposal now heads to the city council for a vote.
