Wilmington Police say a man was shot after he tried to help a woman whose purse was stolen.
It happened Wednesday night near Castle Street and Fifth Avenue.
Police say the victim heard a woman screaming that her purse had been stolen and saw two men running his way.
He held up his phone and threatened to call police--that's when he was shot in the hip.
He's expected to recover.
The two suspects ran away.
