Wilmington to spend more on storm debris removal
4/17/14- The Wilmington City Council approved an additional $375,000 for storm debris removal from this winter’s ice storms.
The new funding brings the total amount to more than $1.7 million.
Officials expect the state to reimburse the city for about 75 % of the costs.
City officials have compared the volume of debris to that collected during a Category 1 hurricane.
